FIRST OFFICIAL PLOTTING POST HOORAY

Okay so what is this plot all about?

Well we’ll get to that! This whole thing is basically a freewrite so I can just go ahead and write and get all the stuff out without having to go through all the pain of thinking. For now. Anyway here’s what we know so far:

The planet is a war games planet! Laser tag and stuff, nothing involving live ammo…

…that is until the Purists appear! DUN DUN!!!

So here’s the lowdown on that: As we know (or will know once I finish that OTHER write up haha) the Purists have infiltrated most of the political higher ups (ANT CLARIFY. I DON’T KNOW WORDS). On the planet there’s going to be an exchange between a Purist rep and some arms group I don’t know. A neutral party, a high ranking military official, is going to be overseeing the whole process.

The Normandy crew is going to get a tip off on said exchange. And, seeing a chance to expose/catch/etc. the Purists, or at least one of them, they’re going to storm the base. Cue firefight.

There are going to be full details once we have a good idea on how big our cast is going to be (HOORAY APPS!!! 8D) and who would react how.

No matter what, though, the military official escapes. This is where the rest of the game comes in—whoever so chooses the job that has to do with bounty hunting can bring this dude in.

IF FOR WHATEVER REASON nobody else in the game is able/doesn’t want to be involved/whatever, this job can default to a group that’s already involved in Purist plotting. Preventers? Someone who’s acting alone? We’re going to need a head count or something.

So after general dude is brought in, there’s going to be a trial (?). I don’t know the specifics of that, but the final result will be a huge expose on the Purists. We may have to warn the whole game? Not sure. ANT CLARIFY THIS TOO.

Extra stuff:

The Purists have information on the entire Normandy Crew! It’s possible though that Male Shepard is a wildcard, since the information they got was from a Legion that came from a Female Shepard storyline.

Garrus is a marked man with a “KILL ON SIGHT” order. This could be something to play with, whether with antagonists in the cast (AHEM TIM) or something that could come into play in the plot. Because of that, everybody is on watch, too, with emphasis placed on Shepard since she’s been helping him shoot people. PLAY AROUND WITH THIS INFORMATION GUYS!!! It’d be awesome if everybody could get their own piece of plot pie ALONG with a whole plot cake. WE ARE GOING TO GET SO FAT.
The Normandy Crew will be acting with LETHAL FORCE. I’m not sure how this will affect their relations with Preventer. Robyn, can you clarify this?

I FORGOT THIS IN THE ORIGINAL WRITE UP: We're also planning on having something happen to Mordin's clinic where one of the bodies Garrus brings in has been bugged using some sort of synthetic organ thing. This will put the clinic in danger (EVEN MOAR DANGER). RYO YOU PROBABLY REMEMBER/KNOW MORE ABOUT THIS THAN I DO. LET ME KNOW IF I MISSED THINGS!

The Normandy herself needs an awesome moment. ANY IDEAS?

There are people who are not part of the ME cast who will be involved too! The one who comes to mind is Fox mostly. IF YOU KNOW ANYONE ELSE WHO WANTS TO BE INVOLVED, PLEASE, LET ME OR ANT (mostly Ant) KNOW!!!! It’s already shaping up to be something big, so if it’s going to get even bigger, we absolutely must know in advance so we can accommodate everybody.

And I'd like to see Preventer get all up in their grill for lethal force so that Sheploo can renegade talk the shit out of someone because I am a horrible person.

He is also going to stick his omni-blade into a bad person.

Also, I love the idea of wildcard manShep, especially because he tossed his paperwork out the damn hospital window.

OKAY COOL. I'll take it that Sheploo isn't heading down planetside? For reference I think we're aiming to have them storm the base around mid-month. I'll put up a full blown timeline when things are cemented!

It's ultimately up to Robyn, but getting some tension between the Normandy crew and Preventer would be pretty kickass! Even if it's just some bickering. We'll see how that goes!

AWESOME!! Wildcard Manshep (that sounds like a Marauder Shield's style nickname HAHA) can tip the scale in any direction. Like he can wind up saving everybody by being a jerkass, or he can wind up screwing things over... by being a jerkass. WHICHEVER YOU WANT.

AS AN ADDENDUM TO WHAT INC SAID:

That's going to need a bit of brainstorming amongst the cast, BUT, I think it'll eventually come to a head between lethal force and non-lethal force (I know Garrus at least is getting frustrated enough to want to just storm the Purists with guns blazing).

Do you have any ideas on what you'd like to have happen? :D?

He'll probably be able to go down planetside around then. He's just staying in the clinic for now instead of his room because Mordin is a total bro. SO he can come along and storm the base and be a badass with the rest of the badasses. I CAN DO EITHER/OR/BOTH so it doesn't matter to me.

Bickering and headbutts is a must. ROBYN DO YOU HEAR THIS?

He can do BOTH SORTA? He can save everybody somehow but then sell some info they get on the Purists to TIM afterwards or something. HE JUST WANTS TO KEEP TIM FROM FUCKING WITH HIS CREW so he might do a thing or two for the bastard here and there as his way of keeping tabs on TIM while also building up his own contacts.

Judge him all you want, crew. Renegade Shep has a method to his madness, a very badass method.

The more badasses the better! Also with a bigger crew, we're going to need more leaders anyway! Both Sheps can pick a squad (schoolyard dodgeball style!) and we can go from there!

In terms of Preventer, their whole armory can do serious damage but the weapons don't kill since Bruce had them swear to be non-lethal and shiznit. The Mass Effect crew can help themselves! Right now, Preventer is more like an "insider" organization. They have good political relations with ship authority but are actually undermining them for within. 8) Ship authority knows they have an anti-Purist agenda but can't exactly outright tell Preventer "Hey, stop that! That's us!" so it's a delicate situation. They're limited in what they can do outright but hellz yeah, they will help sneak around.

Okay sweet! I think I remember talking to you about that-- the Normandy Crew using Preventer tech and all that! It'll really come in handy!

Also Preventer's position can be a seriously good advantage here. What with sort-of amnesty and all that. IDK if the crew would hide behind the Preventer name? (Although they'll totally use their basement) But it's good to have!

Other than tech provision, what would you like Une's role to be in the actual base storming? It's flexible!

Hm...she can stall ship authority whenever. It's a lot of political stuff. They're giving her a really hard time though. Like they won't let her change the locks to her suite even after her security was compromised but w/e it's just "personal safety" so she doesn't give a fuck and just moved everything incriminating from her residence to her room in HQ. I dunno what the IC consequences will be for her this time if they suspect her of ~stuff~ but I can hash that out later. Just yeah, don't kill and you're golden. If you want, she can like...argue with them about ~not killing~ if you want.

As for hashing out the details, hopefully Ant will be on by later tonight to give you a more concrete answer! Maybe we can turn that into a plot point of some kind down the road? What do you think?

HERE I WILL THROW WORDS AT YOU

Garrus has discovered from Batmanning around the Thor, that the Purists have taken root in some of the higher echelons of the galactic governing bodies. On top of that, several are supposedly high ranking figureheads and military men of considerable rank, but this is all just hearsay. There's no concrete evidence.

Yet.

Garrus (or whoever) will get wind of a deal going down: using the planet's wargame filled atmosphere as a cover, one of those high ranking military figures will be making a special visit to the planet under the guise of overseeing regulation training maneuvers. What is actually happening, however, is that he is going to be a third, neutral party in an arms deal between a notorious war profiteer and the head of the Purist chapter in this particular quadrant. The weapons cache is all experimental weaponry, specifically calibrated to only harm people who carry a unique energy signature. Those who have come from destroyed worlds and/or galaxies. The Purists commissioned these after the Sigrun incident, and only now have they been properly developed and are now awaiting field testing.

I really don't have any comments for this, as I'm still trying to work out how exactly everything will go down. Tali's really got nothing to do with anything until action happens, anyway.
