Okay guys, here's how the timeline is looking. If you don't know what I'm talking about, then please READ EVERYTHING IN THIS POST HERE. EVEN THE COMMENTS.. I'll be more than happy to clarify any questions anyone may have.

April 10th (tomorrow. herp) -- Preventer work log is going up.

For those who are just tuning in, here's a thread about what the Preventers do! And here is a POST about the Purists! Now, the Normandy Crew isn't a part of the Preventers, but they work together with them in order to right the Purists. Preventers take care of the political stuff, Normandy Crew blows shit up. Simple, right?

April 13th -- Friday

Friday night is when I'd like to have everything ICly go down. I'll kick it off with Garrus making a filtered post to the ME cast and anyone else involved.

From there… we can either log things out or we can handwave. Again, I'd personally like to handwave, BUT logging is on the table, too. No matter what, though, we definitely need to hash things out either in this post, or in a future plotting post dedicated specifically to the base storming. Please put in your two cents, you never know when you may have a brilliant idea hidden away! Also, this helps keep a headcount of who is available.

Some things we'll have to discuss include: teams (Sheploo and Femshep are each most likely going to lead one, with a few extras left over. Should Garrus lead a crew too? Fox? Anyone else? Volunteer/make suggestions! Everybody is fair game!

No matter what, remember that general dude ESCAPES. Should we have a team injury be the cause? Does anyone have any ideas? AGAIN. SPEAK UP! If you have an idea, share it! :D

April 18th

This is when news spreads that General Dude has escaped! This is also where it kind of leaves our hands-- anyone else in the game who's signed up for an assassin/bodyguard job can find General Dude and bring him in for trial/questioning.

And that's it for this month! The trial is next month, and we can use what remains of this month to have the crew talk over what went wrong, what the Purists are up to, etc.

Speak with Ant about hashing out findings your character may have made, if any! I'll be posting some stuff into the comment myself once this is finally posted!

So here is how I feel the General should escape. However, it does require someone getting injured, but it could shed some interesting light on things.

As of right now, no one should know what these experimental weapons can do. During the attack on the base, the General can use one of the new weapons in a desperation maneuver. What follows is a concentrated blast that will pass through any of the Purist troops, but will connect with a member of the team. Damage I figure can be left up to whoever volunteers to take the bullet, but I imagine it'd be like a microwave gun: severe burns internally, charred armor, etc etc.

Anyway, that's what I'm guessing could lead up to the General escaping.

You know, funny thing... I was just playing Zaeed's loyalty mission in ME2. You know, where the resident Brit merc decides to blow the place up in order to get Vido. It gave me an idea. Perhaps our general dude could cause some sort on life-threatening situation on a large part of the populace, and the crew has to decide whether to stop the situation or go after the general. (Though even if they do go after the general, the time spent arguing buys him enough chance to escape.)

I dunno. Just a thought. Also an opportunity for the Shep-twins to argue.

Random Purist uses the experimental weapon and General makes a break for it.

General sees that his cover is blown and had a contingency plan: He's planted one of his men in a squad taking part in the war games. With one call, that man switches from fake ammo to live ammo and starts firing. Now the Normandy needs to decide between stopping the general and stopping an actual war from breaking out.

Some extra info on what we're dealing with!

I'm just going to c/p this from Ant's comment in the first post because I am that tired/lazy right now.

Garrus has discovered from Batmanning around the Thor, that the Purists have taken root in some of the higher echelons of the galactic governing bodies. On top of that, several are supposedly high ranking figureheads and military men of considerable rank, but this is all just hearsay. There's no concrete evidence.

Yet.

Garrus will get wind of a deal going down: using the planet's wargame filled atmosphere as a cover, one of those high ranking military figures will be making a special visit to the planet under the guise of overseeing regulation training maneuvers. What is actually happening, however, is that he is going to be a third, neutral party in an arms deal between a notorious war profiteer and the head of the Purist chapter in this particular quadrant. The weapons cache is all experimental weaponry, specifically calibrated to only harm people who carry a unique energy signature. Those who have come from destroyed worlds and/or galaxies. The Purists commissioned these after the Sigrun incident, and only now have they been properly developed and are now awaiting field testing.

So this is one thing to keep in mind (I see a comment on it already!) and also, Garrus would have brought up to the rest of the crew by now that he actually has a Kill On Sight order placed on him. Just some background info to work with!

Anyone want anything to happen to Shep and would anyone want to be in her squad? I was thinking of Tali and Garrus, but I'm flexible.

I'm pretty cool with any of this. I know for a fact that if Mordin gets injured with some experimental weapon then Sheploo is going to lose his shit and renegade the fuck out of someone because of spoiler-y reasons from ME3.

I also like the idea of there being some big moral decision having to be made so Sheploo and Shepboobs can argue with Sheploo obviously wanting to go after the general. Sheploo will definitely be aggressive and using lethal force (kind of want him in conflict with Preventer over that). BASICALLY I'm trying to think up some dramatic renegade showing to show the crew that Sheploo is sorta different since I am pretty sure everybody except Liara comes from a paragon regardless of sex.

Maybe they can capture some underling/scapegoat that will obviously be set free because of political loopholes or something and Sheploo omni-blades his face/head/dong off.

On another note, he'll probably be selling a bit of the info the crew gets to TIM to start building trust or something.

I'll keep thinking about all this while I'm working today and then get back to you guys later tonight.

I don't see him backing down at all from his argument to go after the general, so he might just tell Jane to go save the people with the whole Normandy crew while Sheploo himself runs off to infiltrate and try and track him down.

He won't catch the dude of course, but he might be out of contact from everybody for a few days so they can assume the worst.

I AM HERE and I have read over this -- everything to me sounds good, and the prospect of the whole renegade vs. paragon actions/conflict make it soundly doubly interesting and dramatic.

Liara here will abide by whatever is best for her plot-wise; in other words, I'm willing to offer her up for whatever is needed? Injury or support fire for the rest of the crew? Both? Just let me know. /o/
